If you are looking to build or demolish a structure in the municipality of Shuniah please choose from one of the four application packages found in the links below. Please submit your completed package to the municipal office for review by our planning department and Chief Building Official. Ensure you include your contact information for staff to contact you during the review process. Upon approval of your building permit, staff will contact you for pick up of the permit and payment of the applicable building permit fees. Our office accepts payment by Cash, Cheque or Debit.

Sheds 

Interim Amendments to the 2012 Building code exempt sheds up to 15 square metres in area from requiring a building permit, provided the shed:

• Is not more than one storey in building height
• Is not attached to a building or any other structure
• Is used only for storage purposes ancillary to a principal building on the lot, and
• Does not have

Non-Refundable Deposit

The Municipality’s Fees By-law #3490-26, was updated to include a $100.00 non-refundable deposit for all building permit due upon application submission.
